So why get an RMR? A resting metabolic rate test determines how much energy (calories) your body burns while at rest, in order to perform basic functions of living, by measuring your oxygen and carbon dioxide levels – and therefore, your daily caloric requirements for weight maintenance, gain or loss based on your unique metabolism. There are RMR calculators available online, however since those aren’t based on your unique metabolism, they can be off.
