  • FFC Union Station & FFC Old Town – closed
  • All other clubs: 7 AM – 5 PM

All other weekend hours will be normal.

*24-hour clubs reopen at 4:30 AM Tuesday, September 3.

Please be aware that a resurfacing construction project in the parking garage will begin September 9 and last for about 5-6 weeks.

My name is Michael Glab and I am the new registered dietitian at the FFC East Lakeview and Boystown FFC locations. I very much look forward to getting to know you!

Here’s why I’m passionate about being a registered dietitian:

  • Nutrition is a very personal – what works for me or your friend may not work for you.
  • Nutrition is very powerful – it transforms lives both inside and out.
  • I know this firsthand as someone who has lost weight and kept it off for years with proper nutrition and exercise.

This experience led me to my passion: helping others achieve their health goals through the power of nutrition. I quit my 9 – 5 in 2012 and endured a four-year journey to get a Master’s in nutrition from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2016.

My clients are highly motivated and work their butts off. They like working with me for the support and insight to take their nutrition and fitness goals to the next level.

Adults know that carrying a huge load on their backs may do harm over time. But children continue to walk around with monstrous backpacks on during the school year. In a study conducted by Spine Magazine, 80 percent of surveyed children said that their backpacks were heavy. So what can you do…

1. Wear both straps when wearing the backpack so that the weight is evenly distributed.
2. Position the backpack over the strongest mid-back muscles. The backpack should rest evenly and shoulder straps should allow for free movement of the arms and be easy to get on and off. Use the chest and waist straps for additional support
3. Lighten the load. Contents’ weight should be less than 10-15% of the child’s body weight

We’re excited to announce Rebecca Faria is as an FFC exclusive group fitness instructor.

Rebecca has been training and coaching in the fitness industry for over 10 years. Her interest in fitness began at an early age when she realized how important it was to her career as a professional dancer to maintain muscular and cardiovascular endurance. Becca is passionate about bringing both education and motivation to every member that takes her class. You will always walk out of her class feeling inspired and energized to take on your day! Look for her on the new fall schedule.

Rebecca will be teaching Chisel at FFC East Lakeview on Mondays at 12 noon!
