The holidays are right around the corner and with them comes time with family, friends and of course, delicious food! This doesn’t have to lead to a wider waistline. Join Allison Koch, FFC Oak Park’s newest Registered Dietitian, for this complimentary nutrition seminar where she’ll cover tips to help you navigate through the hectic season without packing on the pounds. She’ll also share secret ingredient swaps that will lighten up your favorite dishes without anyone noticing. This seminar will be held on both November 19 and November 20 at 7 PM.

You get the night off to sip while your kiddos have fun painting! Drop the kids off at the club on Friday, November 22 from 6 – 9 PM for a kid-friendly painting party for ages 3 and up. Join us on Thursdays and Fridays at 10 AM in November for Primal Mobility. These mobility sessions will help improve strength and mobility, decrease pain and increase body awareness, core strength and athleticism. Justin will lead Primal Mobility on the basketball court.

From November 1 – 26, FFC Oak Park will be hosting a food drive for local non-profit New Moms. New Moms believes in the strength, ability, and potential of all families to pursue and achieve their goals. New Moms partners with young moms and their kids in a “2-Generation” approach that puts moms in the drivers’ seat as they build strong families. They provide support to participants in 3 major areas: housing, job training, and family support.

If you would like to donate to the food drive, please bring new, unwrapped, unopened and unexpired items to the lobby of FFC Oak Park. We can make the greatest impact by collecting the following items at our food drive:

1) What does membership at FFC mean to you?

We like the variety of exercise options: group fitness, yoga, weight rooms, swimming and updated cardio equipment.

2) When at FFC you will find me….

Either in a group fitness class, weight room, on the cardio equipment or swimming in the early morning. Doing different exercises keeps us engaged.

3) I work out to…

We work out to keep up with our children and enjoy an active lifestyle. We like to ski, camp, travel, hike, and scuba. We have to stay in shape to enjoy all of these activities.

Trainer Ken Jones will take you through specific exercises that will help you build core endurance, muscle activation, stabilization and strength.
