What is Pilates?

The Pilates Body: it’s not a myth! The Pilates Body is strong, limber, and balanced. If you suffer from chronic back pain, repetitive strain, tight hamstrings, weak abdominals, or just want to improve your quality of life, Pilates is for you.

Pilates will straighten, strengthen, and lengthen your body to help you look better, perform better, and above all, feel better. Advocates of the method have encouraged more and more people to join Pilates classes. In Chicago, FFC has created one of the city’s best programs. It will also help you improve strength and function as you recover from an injury or surgery.

Joseph H. Pilates called his method of exercises “contrology” because he believed that his method uses the mind to control the muscles. Pilates focuses on the core postural muscles that keep the body balanced, and are essential to providing support for the spine. Pilates teaches awareness of breath and alignment, restores muscular balance, and builds strength and flexibility.

Starter Session – $40!
This is a 50-minute session on the Mat and Apparatus with additional goal planning or postural assessment for only $40 – a $35 savings! One time purchase, first time clients only.

FitStart – 3 Sessions $150
Perfect for anyone looking to experience the benefits of Pilates. One time purchase, first time clients only. Can be purchased after Starter Session with Pilates or Senior Trainer only. Private 50-minute sessions.

These classes are customized to meet the different needs or skills of our Club members who want to take their Pilates Matwork to the next level. Customized options include Intermediate or Advanced Mat, Mat with Small Props, Mat for Men or Mat for Pregnancy. Classes meet once a week for six weeks, and are 45 minutes in length.
