An Indoor Triathlon is a great way to experience one of the world's fastest growing sports - without the intimidation of a traditional event. All registrants having no triathlon experience will be provided with a simple training program and Q&A sheet. On race day, you will be grouped with other first time participants - don't worry about competing with seasoned veterans. Recruit your friends and do something different this winter!

An Indoor Triathlon consists of the three typical disciplines: swim, bike, run - in that order. The only difference from a standard outdoor event is that you are timed in each activity. Your recorded distances during the swim, bike and run portions will be calculated and combined to give you a final, total distance. Your race day will consist of:

Swim: 15 minutes
Transition 1: 10 minutes
Bike: 20 minutes
Transition 2: 5 minutes
Run: 15 minutes

About TriMonster
View information

TriMonster is FFC's official triathlon training program, now in our 7th season! Let us introduce you to one of the world's fastest growing sports - without the intimidation!

TriMonster triathlon training provides a friendly, structured training environment to help you achieve your triathlon goals - whether your desire is simply to finish a race or realize a new personal best. Your tri experience will be greatly enhanced with our ability to motivate and effectively guide your training - while understanding the need to balance work, family and other obligations.

Our programming is primarily tailored for key regional races ranging from sprint to Iron distances, although we are happy to help you customize a plan for triathlons of your choosing. Nearly all of our athletes participate in the Chicago Triathlon. Regardless, we will gladly accommodate your special needs - whether you wish to join mid-session or need a modified training plan due to a hectic schedule.

In 2009, we expanded our training program to two locations: Union Station and Gold Coast. We utilize FFC's pool, spin studios and other amenities through the training program. TriMonster holds evening group workouts twice each week (one swim and one bike/run session). You are supplied with a customized, "on your own" training plan through the remainder of the week. We often meet on weekends for unofficial group workouts.

We are currently planning for our 2010 season - which promises for bigger expansion to more FFC facilities.
