TriMonster Triathlon Training
TriMonster is Fitness Formula Clubs' Chicago triathlon training program, now in our 7th season!
TriMonster was founded on the philosophy that anyone with an interest in triathlon should pursue it. Gaining interest in the sport is EASY. Taking that interest and turning it into action is NOT. Even if you can't swim, are terrified of open water, haven't ridden your bike since it had training wheels and have never run a mile in your life - we're pretty sure you can finish a triathlon. It will require some effort, but it is possible. TriMonster provides a variety of group-focused triathlon training programs within a friendly, structured environment. Whether your goal is to simply finish your first triathlon or realize a new personal best, we can help. We believe there is nothing more effective than training in a group setting - which provides accountability (to show up) and motivation (to push a little harder). Your tri experience will be greatly enhanced with our ability to guide your training - all while understanding the need to balance work, family and other obligations. Since 2002, TriMonster has helped more than 500 individuals successfully conquer triathlon. Our athletes range from first timers to experienced veterans competing in Sprint to Half Iron distance events. The majority of our athletes train to compete in the Chicago Triathlon-boasting a 100% finish rate since we started! Once you have made the commitment to yourself, drop us a line to learn how we can support your dream. Our mission is to introduce you to the sport of triathlon - without the intimidation. We look forward to working with you! Peak Season Triathlon TrainingTriMonster's Peak Season program will provide key preparation for the Midwest's signature triathlons, including the Subaru Women's Triathlon, Pleasant Prairie Triathlon and a variety of others. Nearly everyone in this session will wrap-up the season by competing in the Chicago Triathlon. The Peak Season format very closely resembles the Early Season program, although we will soon meet 3x weekly (twice weekly indoors, once outdoors over the weekend) instead of twice. Additionally, since the weathe should be enjoyable, we will host many swim sessions in Lake Michigan (open water swimming!) and some brick sessions on the Chicago Lakefront. The program is structured in that we help you create a custom training program (depending on your goals, races, avaialable training time, family life, etc.). Each training group is limited to 20 people, meaning the class will be extremely hands-on and intimate. Peak Season Training will be hosted at these locations: FFC Union Station 444 W. Jackson Blvd, Chicago Group Swim: Mondays @ 7:00am and Tuesdays @ 5:30pm Group Bike/Run: Thursdays @ 5:30pm FFC Gold Coast 1030 N. Clark St, Chicago Group Swim: Mondays @ 6:00pm Group Bike/Run: Wednesdays @ 7:00pm FFC Lincoln Park 939 W. North Ave, Chicago Group Bike/Run: Tuesdays @ 7:15pm Group Swim: Thursdays @ 6:30pm FFC East Lakeview 3657 N. Pine Grove, Chicago Bike/Run: Mondays @ 7:30pm Swim: Thursdays @ 6:30pm Many Early Season participants will continue right into this session (see cost savings below). Given the variance in athletic abilities, everyone works out together - although at their own, predetermined level of intensity. Our Peak Season program begins with a focus on conditioning and proper biomechanical techniques, but soon develops into a very technical format. Apart from swim, bike and run activities, this program will focus on the 4th discipline of triathlon (transition), as well as include a variety of related demonstrations and lectures. The program fee is $415 for FFC Members ($680 Non Members). You can save 17% by registering for both Early + Peak Sessions ($690 / $1218)! The Peak Season session includes three weekly group workouts, custom training plan, membership to FFC (if not already a member), a training t-shirt, and all of the items listed above. Class size is limited to 20 people per group. Learn more and register at www.trimonster.net |
