Sauna Etiquette
To help make everyone’s sauna experience more relaxing, respectful, and enjoyable, we’ve put together a simple guide to proper sauna etiquette. Following these guidelines ensures the space remains clean, calm, and comfortable for all members. Whether you’re a regular or new to the sauna, these tips help create a better environment for everyone.
- Shower First – Always rinse off before entering to keep the sauna clean and hygienic.
- Towel Down – Sit or lie on a towel to protect the bench and absorb sweat.
- Keep It Quiet – Respect others’ relaxation—use a calm, quiet voice or enjoy the silence.
- Limit Your Time – 15–20 minutes is plenty. Listen to your body and cool down afterward.
- Dress Appropriately – Wear a towel or proper swimwear—no workout gear or shoes inside.
- No Phones or Devices – Saunas are a tech-free zone. Leave devices outside to avoid distractions.
- Be Mindful of Others – Don’t stretch out across benches if it’s crowded. Share the space.
- No Shaving, Lotions, or Oils – Keep it clean—save grooming and skin products for after your session.
- Stay Hydrated – Drink water before and after—but not inside the sauna.
- Clean Up After Yourself – Take your towel, bottles, and anything else with you when you leave.
