    Our winter group fitness schedule goes live on January 6! Classes are offered in the mornings, afternoons and early evenings every weekday. All classes are complimentary with your membership and can be found here or on the FFC App.

    Did you know that 70,000 steps at a moderate pace equals 3500 calories or 1 pound burned? We’re challenging you to log 10,000 steps per day (260,000 steps) in the month of January. The challenge runs January 6 – 31. We will have pedometers available for you at the front desk.

    Those that achieve this goal will be entered into a raffle for two Chicago Bulls tickets for the game on March 28 against the Knicks.

    Our Registered Dietician, Livia Ly, is sharing a naturally-sweetened version of a holiday staple: cranberry sauce! Questions about the recipe or nutrition in general? Contact Livia at lly@ffc.com.

    Honey Sweetened Orange Cranberry Sauce

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
    • 1/3 cup raw honey
    • 2 tbsp. orange zest (from about 2 oranges)
    • 1 12-oz package of cranberries

    Directions
    1. Over medium heat, dissolve the honey in the orange juice.
    2. Add 2 tbsp. of orange zest.
    3. Add the cranberries and cook, uncovered until most of the berries have popped and the sauce has thickened quite a bit (it’ll continue to thicken as it cools). It takes about 10-15 minutes.
    4. Taste the sauce and add the remaining orange zest, if desired.
    5. Pour the sauce in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

    While we encourage all runners, walkers, and outdoor lovers to participate in the Official Turkey Trot Chicago, we wanted to offer an indoor option to our 353 Members, with a little twist.

    You can participate in the challenge from November 1 – 26. During that time period, complete 3.2 miles of cardio on either the treadmill, elliptical or rower. Once you have completed 3.2 miles of cardio, you will be entered into the raffle. Each additional set of 3.2 miles completed will give you an additional raffle ticket.

    Prizes include:

    • 60-minute massage at our South Loop Location
    • 60-minute float from Float Sixty
    • Free month of laundry service
    • Consultation with Registered Dietitian
    • Free Personal Training Session
