February’s Message from General Manager Jeff Long January 27, 2012
Do What You Love.
As I didn’t want to mention the big “R” word in January, I don’t want to mention “V” Day in February. But, I want to take this opportunity to talk to you about finding your fitness passion. It’s always easier to do what you love, right? If you love to cook, then you tend to cook more. If you love to read, you tend to read more. Same thing goes in the fitness world. Coming to the Club to do something you dread, may not bode well for long-term success. But, coming to the Club to do even just one thing you really enjoy, can make all the difference in the world. Even if it’s just saying to yourself, “I love to sit in the steam room for 10 minutes. If I do my workout, I get to sit in the steam room.” And, if you don’t have one thing you really love to do – keep trying new things! You never know when a new activity can spark a new passion. Try Zumba. Or Yoga. Or TRX. Or the Climbing Wall. Or shooting baskets. I can go on and on. So can our staff – ask them what they love to do – it may give you a good idea.
Doing what you love will help you keep up all of that momentum from January. And, if you lost momentum, see the paragraph above! Stay focused and remember, warmer weather and spring will be here before we know it – two things I love!
