Congratulations Georgia Hunter!

Congratulations to FFC Oak Park member, Georgia Hunter! She took the gold medal in the 100-yard individual medley and team 4×50-yard medley relay, and knocked 17 seconds off her 100-yard individual freestyle at the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games! She has been swimming competitively with Special Olympics Aquatics for almost 15 years, and was invited to the first-ever Special Olympic USA Games in 2006. 2014 marked her second trip to the national games.
Georgia was one of 59 total athletes representing various sports from Illinois, and one of only eight swimmers selected to compete. She joined FFC Oak Park last year to add more swim time to her weekly team programming at West Suburban Special Recreation Association. Friend and FFC Oak Park employee, Rosina Hackl, helped to coach her on her journey to gold. The two have been friends since swimming together in high school.
Congratulations Georgia! We are so proud!
