If you’re heading to have a massage, it probably isn’t a simple indulgence. Most likely what brings you to the spa is some level of ache or pain, stress, ailment, lack of mobility, or injury. But how do you know if you’re getting the treatment you need? Here are few things you should look for in the right massage therapist:
1. Your therapist should ask you specific questions about your current areas of concern such as: Have you had and recent injuries, falls, slips, or trauma? If so, what and when? What do you do for a living? Do you carry a bag? Work on a Computer? Golf? Hold babies? Some therapists will be able to do a postural analysis on the spot and with little effort, adjust your body stance to show you where you are “carrying” your past incidents and injuries.

Try Heated Vinyasa Flow, now available at FFC Lincoln Park. Heated Vinyasa Flow is practiced in a studio heated to 94 degrees. This yoga practice uses the postures in a flowing manner, connecting each posture with a breath; class is appropriate for all levels.
