A Message From the Halsted General Manager

Here we are, two months into my new role at Halsted, and I’ve met many of you already.  For those of you I have not met yet, I look forward to saying hello.  I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am with our new management team.  Dana Wilson is now heading up the fitness and training departments. Brett Gehrig is our new Customer Service Manager and responsible for all things front desk, including cafe, shop, and spa. Of course, we can’t forget our veteran managers, Zuri Brown (Director of Membership) and Kelly Amshoff (Group Fitness Manager).  Zuri and Kelly have been (and probably always will be) in charge of Halsted Membership and Group Fitness respectively.  We continue to look forward to delivering you a safe and friendly environment, providing you improvements and superior service, with the utmost integrity.  And yes, I did say IMPROVEMENTS.   

I hope you have started to notice some of the changes around the club recently.  A few weeks ago, we took delivery of two new Matrix Stepmills, to bring our total stepmill count to 6.  We also replaced the water fountains on the South side of upper level, with a new unit containing an automatic water bottle fill.  We replaced the ceiling fans in Studios 1 and 2. And last week, we re-upholstered a good portion of the strength equipment in a sleek and modern, slate gray color.  I’m here to tell you, we are NOT finished……

We are currently in the process of finalizing a big renovation to the Halsted Street club with updates to the locker rooms, strength and cardio equipment, and floor layout.  I am looking for these renovations to get underway late October to early November, hoping to be completed by the end of the year.  Once the project is finalized, I will send out an email to all Halsted members describing dates and what exactly is happening.

It’s an exciting time to be an FFC Halsted Street member!
